Comprehensive Health Advocacy and Mentorship Programme
(CHAMP)

About

Comprehensive Health Advocacy and Mentorship Program (Champ) aims at addressing the healthcare issues of elderly in our society. This program is suitable for students who wish to select Faculty of Medicine programs as their tertiary education. Students who participate in Champ will receive basic medication safety training, disease management, in order to provide immediate support and care to their elderly family members or elders in their community.

 

By conducting outreach services with CUHK students (CHAMPIONs), mentees acquire basic knowledge on elderly care and medication safety, and gain opportunities in exploring university life.

Eligibility:

Local secondary school students 

Participate in 3 training workshops in May

Participate in at least 2 CU CHAMPION Summer Outreach Service Sessions during July to August

3 Champ Training Workshops will be offered to all Champ Mentees on CUHK Campus in May.

E-learning: 
Champ Mentees will be enrolled on an e-learning course on KEEP Moodle. 
The course will provide supplementary learning materials, and information about disease management, drugs, and geriatric care knowledge, as well as outreach announcements .

Champ Summer Outreach

Summer Outreach Service:

After a series of training, Champ Mentees need to attend the CU CHAMPION 2017 Summer Outreach Services in July and August. They will be guided by a group of CUHK student mentors (CHAMPIONs) and provide service items such as monitoring blood pressure, and conducting health questionnaire for elderly subjects.
