CU CHAMPION refers to The Chinese University of Hong Kong Community Health And Multi-disciplinary Partnership Interprofessional Outreach Network.

Inaugurated in 2013, CU CHAMPION is a joint disciplines outreach and service learning program. As of today, CU CHAMPION consists of teachers and students from Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Social Science and Faculty of Science, it aims to link all faculties staff and students to facilitate inter-professional training and organise service learning activities.

CU CHAMPION has the vision to enhance CUHK students’ readiness to serve the community and become a university-wide program and an innovative leader in coordinating student volunteers to improve community wellness, and improve the overall well-being of Hong Kong citizens. CU CHAMPION’s service objectives include but not limited to advancement of geriatric care and elders' well-being, disease prevention, and improve the life quality of the underprivileged. The program seeks to bring the generations together in a mutually beneficial partnership with community partners, student volunteers, CUHK alumni and professionals. With fine-tuning, the programme aspires to serve as a model of service-learning and student-as-partner initiative to facilitate the overall teaching and learning quality in CUHK.

Students will gain training and experience on critical thinking, self managed learning, problem solving, communication skills, interpersonal and interprofessional group work through volunteer workshops and service activities. As of September 2021, CU CHAMPION has served over 20000 citizens in Hong Kong by conducting various on and off campus health promotion and outreach events.

CUHK Students

CUHK students

CU CHAMPION recruits student volunteers from all disciplines to join the community outreach service every year.

They carry out basic body check-up for our service targets (elders, ethnic minorities etc.)  and put what they have learnt into practice.

CUHK students can also be mentors in the Champ program and guide secondary school students to learn about the healthcare issues and challenges under aging population in Hong Kong.

High School Students

High School Students

Comprehensive Health Advocacy and Mentorship Program (Champ) aims at providing an opportunity for a group of students, who would like to pursue Faculty of Medicine programs as their tertiary education, to learn about the healthcare issues and challenges under aging population in the society through CU CHAMPION outreach services.

Meanwhile, they receive training of medication safety and basic disease management which equip them to provide instant support and care for elders in family.
