CU CHAMPION (Community Health And Multi-disciplinary Partnership Interprofessional Outreach Network)
Developed in 2013, CU CHAMPION is an interprofessional outreach service team, which is also a service-learning program.
Since its establishment, CU CHAMPION has organized a series of knowledge transfer and health education outreach activities within the campus and the community.
Interprofessional Education (IPE) has been introduced to students through workshops, e-learning platform and community services. In parallel with providing health education, students can gain in-depth understanding of patients, collaborate with peers from other professions, and enhance their skills in communicating with different service targets.

With passion, we take action to improve the wellbeing of our community, and others' life.
CU CHAMPION Advisors
The advisory committee of CU CHAMPION include Professors and Lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Social Work of CUHK. The committee provides guidance and assistance on CU CHAMPION service learning program and student-led community services. They design and prepare workshop content, as well as e-learning materials for students to practice in outreach services.
CU CHAMPION Core Team
The Core Team was officially inaugurated in 2016. It consists of students from different disciplines. Core team has responsibility to organise and execute all community health education, service, and research projects within the project years' period.
Core Team Member profiles:
CU CHAMPION recruits student volunteers from all disciplines to join the community outreach service every year.
They carry out basic body check-up for our service targets (elders, ethnic minorities etc.) and put what they have learnt into practice.
CUHK students can also be mentors in the Champ program and guide secondary school students to learn about the healthcare issues and challenges under aging population in Hong Kong.
High School Students
Comprehensive Health Advocacy and Mentorship Program (Champ) aims at providing an opportunity for a group of students, who would like to pursue Faculty of Medicine programs as their tertiary education, to learn about the healthcare issues and challenges under aging population in the society through CU CHAMPION outreach services.
Meanwhile, they receive training of medication safety and basic disease management which equip them to provide instant support and care for elders in family.
Health Care Professionals
The healthcare professional volunteers include registered Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses and Chinese Medicine Practitioners and most of them are alumni of CUHK. They provide professional health and medication consultation for service participants.
