HPV Education Project

About the project

The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) online education project is a campaign collaboratively launched by CU CHAMPION and The Nethersole School of Nursing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. A series of online workshops for local secondary schools on the theme of HPV will be conducted via online communication software. The program aims at increasing the audience's awareness about HPV and promoting the knowledge about HPV vaccination.
 

The online education sessions will be conducted for 9 local secondary schools, and the target audience is teenage girls aged 14 to 17 and their parents, teaching staff including teachers, school nurses, social workers and administration staff.

113 CUHK student volunteers recruited from different disciplines:

Nursing

Pharmacy

Medicine

Food & Nutritional Sciences

public health

biomedical science

Volunteer Training Sessions

2 volunteer training sessions were held in late August, 2020.

Volunteers are equipped with sufficient knowledge of HPV vaccines and clarification of common misconceptions, as well as the soft skills required for subsequent education activities.

Volunteers will join professional nurses, doctors and pharmacists in explaining HPV vaccine related information and answering questions from audiences.
