Research Project: Teaching and Learning during Pandemic

A cross-sectional study: the association between the implementation of home-based (online) teaching and the qualities of learning experiences of students in Hong Kong.

In 2020, the pandemic COVID-19 is threatening the world. Home-based (online) teaching and learning (T&L) appears compelling and becomes prevailing worldwide due to school closures announced by governments in different countries which aims at enhancing social distancing and reducing the spread of disease. Online learning has been adopted by many in this technological era, bringing up issues concerning this new mode of study.

Hong Kong senior secondary school students and full-time undergraduate students from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), as well as secondary school teachers in Hong Kong and CUHK academic staff.

  1. Reflect the impact on the learning experience of students brought by the new mode of T&L.

  2. Collect comments that can serve as recommendations for the continuation and further development of online T&L.

  3. Investigate the association between the implementation of home-based online T&L and the qualities of learning experiences of students in Hong Kong.
