CU Atrial fibrillation screening day
(CUAF Day)
About
The prevalence of Atrial Fibrillation (AF) grows with the ageing population. According to a global research, one in every five people aged 65 years or above will develop AF.
Based on the screening result of CU CHAMPION’s summer outreach in the past 2 years, it showed that around 7% of the elderly suffering from AF are unaware of their condition and have little knowledge about the disease.
As a result, CU CHAMPION co-hosted CU Atrial Fibrillation Day (CU AF Day) on May 23 and 30, to provide basic electrocardiogram (ECG) scanning and raise the awareness towards AF among the general public.
